Friday morning was a little rough after sleeping on the floor at Hotel Benji but we pulled it together after we made it to Cafe 27 for Bloody Marys, Screw Drivers, and whiskey. The ride through the everglades was pretty awesome with lots of beautiful landscape dotted with indian reservations and air boat ride tours. Our destination was the Skunk Ape Research center to camp and party for night but someone forgot to mention how freakin cold it was gonna be by 3a.m. We struggled slightly to get the fire going in the beginning but it lasted all night til the morning so we did something right. While on a mission for fire wood I came across a very cool animal skull in the swamps and someone tried to steal it the morning but I got it back but it ended up Naples when the trip was all said in done :( While the party was just getting started Casey and I set up a small business called Picnic Table Tattoos and provided a few lucky campers with some awesome new faux ink. The party started getting rowdy by the time the Gladezmen started to play and thats about the time that Red Line Buchanan aka Sletchy aka Justin RFK got naked and danced around the campfire. There was so much whiskey and beer drinking that everyone surely had a good time and at least once person puked all over themselves and their tent! Thank goodness no one got raped by a skunk ape and thank goodness Chris and Justin brought their two person tent that ended up sleeping five :)

The road to Ft. Lauderdale was long and bumpy but was well worth it once we arrived at the Empire of Rust and Lloyd's shop. Those guys provided more beer than necessary and plenty of food. No party is complete with out a little Jim Beam to get everyone a little rowdy. I suffered my first injury of the weekend trying to race an office chair in a busted up concrete parking lot, not a smart idea but we all made plenty of bad decisions fueled by alcohol over the next few days. Thank goodness we brought Sletchy to entertain everyone!

Willies is sad to announce that this will be his last Biketoberfest Old School Chopper Show :( This bums me out too but at least we still have his show during Bike Week to look forward to. The October show holds special memories for the man and I because two years ago the panhead won Best in Show and it was one of the best days ever for us to be given such an amazing acknowledgement at the coolest bike show in the world. This year Willie offered us a one up to winning, he suggested that Mike make a trophy and judge his own category. Of course we said Hell Yeah and immediately started thinking about a neato idea for the trophy, which Mike and I finally came to an agreement on this morning while driving to work. Let me tell you it is gonna be the coolest trophy ever and some lucky sonofabitch is gonna be psyched to win it.

Fun times were had on Sunday by all! I wasn't super psyched to be getting up at 7:30am to drive to Ormond but I survived mostly due to the $2 bloody marys that were garnished with shrimp and the fried bologna sandwich that I happily shared with my friends. There were a ton a people that showed up and a handful of neato bikes that we tried to get pictures of before the phone died. There were a few skanky girls running around in bikinis which is always nice to keep the boys entertained( even if they are asleep). The best part of the day was seeing my friends from FNA Customs, Fat American Choppers, the Deadbeat Motorcult, and a couple of those crazy Death Science kids Benji and Jay Miller. Big thanks to Willie and the IronHorse for letting us come out, get drunk, and try to sell some stuff. Special thanks to Casey and Chris for helping out during the day.

A Week of Mechanical Mishaps

So, unfortunately, stuff breaks from time to time and this week it came double :( The panhead lost it's belt drive on Tuesday, I rescued the man from the side of the interstate shortly after he left work. Taffy Puller broke a piston, bent a push rod left a huge gash on the inside of the motor that is going to have to be machined before being put back together (way to go Chris, just cause it can go 120 mph doesn't mean it should!) At the very least no one was injured and everything can be fixed.

Ok, Mike has been using S&S carbs for longer than he can remember but lately the super "E" on the pan has been giving him some lip running rough and using a bit more fuel than it should as well as having a problematic float which likes to stick open every once in a while. So He's had am S.U. sitting on the shelf for a while and decided to give it a whirl. First impression is dang! That thing pulls like a train and responds quicker than shit through a goose! Two weeks away from a really good time. The Iron Horse Saloon is gonna be the place to be in Florida for Labor Day weekend. Boston Mike and crew will be set up on Sunday with Eric from FNA Customs. Saturday is the Rumblers Car Show and we plan on riding over to check that out and do a little partying ourselves. They got a handful of bands lined up to entertain the crowds including "Slip and The Spinouts", "GrandPa's Cough Medicine", " Big Engine", "Jender", and "Broad Bent Betty". There is also a Pinup Girl Contest on Saturday and The Miss IronHorse Contest on Sunday with huge cash prizes. This is definitely a party that you don't want to miss. Hope to see you there :)

Found this little gem in Downtown Orlando when we went to Southern Fried Sunday a couple weeks ago. It caught my eye immediately and then I realized why it looked so good after I seen the HF in the paint job. I totally forgot the name of the dude riding it but nonetheless its a bad ass looking machine and it sounded good too. I also ran into Nads on this adventure but he disappeared before I get my picture with him :( One of my favorite local bands, The Bloody Jugg Band played later in the evening and as usual it was fantastic!

The Jager girls were on hand to get everyone drunk, the DeadBeat MotorCult came out to set up, Bike n Beauties magazine was on hand shooting pics of the ladies, Dok gave us a smoke and flames show by doing a burnout ( I love burnouts). A few awesome bikes showed up for the bike show and mike was proud to give Flattop the "Bike of The Night" award for his '55 Panhead and Razz won "Best Shovelhead" for his dirty old shovel. Day 3 Part 2 of SmokeOut 12 Adventure

Saturday night was the bomb, literally! Things exploding, chairs and garbage cans on fire in the street, burnouts, dancing, punching, and a whole lot of drinking. I really don't have much to say about this night cause I was too busy being pushed, dragged, pulled and dominated by the one and only Mexi-Can Cathy. She exploded all over me like fireworks and there was nothing I could do to stop her, not like I wanted to stop her :) there really was no better way to end the SmokeOut 12. Thanks to everyone who made it special. Can't wait to do it again next year.

Day 3 Part 1 of SmokeOut 12 Adventure

Saturday proved to be the best day, as expected! Sun blazing, beer flowing, and girls with little to no clothing were everywhere. There seemed to be a lot of napping going on but as far as I'm concerned napping and going to bed early is for suckers. Cause, really, why the hell would you want to miss the party. I spent most of my day trying to procure ice and/or water for the pool that Heyltje brought. We started out asking guys to donate water so girls in bikinis could splash around but we only got a few donations that barely made a dent. Then like a knight in shinning armor HR drove up with her Mini full to the max with bags of ice and a case of the champagne of beer. Yay! We quickly dumped 15 bags and the beer into the pool. The world seemed to be perfect until we actually got in the pool and realized it was extremely COLD and only bearable for about 5 seconds until you went numb. Good for beer not so good for girls in bikinis. Someone came up with the novel idea of selling the beer in the pool for $5 a can merely because a pretty girl would fetch it from the frozen pool for you. Crazy idea I know but it actually worked and we sold about a 12 pk of beer in an hour! I definitely wanna give a big thanks to the guys who bought the beer and an extra special thanks to the repeat customers, those guys were so nice and so drunk :) Saturday also proved to be a little disappointing because my buddy Larry from Garage Co. Customs out of Bama poured his heart and soul into his chop off bike and didn't even win. Totally bummed about it because his chopper was so fucking awesome and had so much detail. How can you not like a bike with a wizard riding a basset hound/beagle? painted on the gas tank. It was brilliant and perfectly executed. Later I will show you some pictures from Saturday night so stay tuned.

Day 2 of SmokeOut 12 Adventure

So Friday morning/ afternoon is kinda like the calm before the storm, everyone is still tired from the drive to NC and some of the people haven't even shown up yet. Heyltje showed up with a pool and well this was exciting(but we will discuss that when I tell the adventure of the 3rd day). We cooked cheeseburgers with a machete thanks to Eddie and I got to meet Roadside's son Dylan and boy is he just like his father TROUBLE! Did I mention titties cause dang my girls they sure do have plenty of them and I couldn't help myself. ;) It was a great day for lounging and catching up with old friends and meeting new friends. And then the sun went down and the demons came out and so did the Mason jars with colorful booze to be enjoyed by the all the boys and girls. As you can tell by Mike's expression in the second to last picture we sure did get a little out of control. I smoked and drank myself into a deep slumber that night and it was the only night of the adventure that I got any sleep. I woke up on a deflated air mattress next to my loudly snoring man. Hangover was not in my vocabulary this morning. I felt alive Saturday morning and ready to do it all over again and I did but that's a story for tomorrow boys and girls.

Day 1 of SmokeOut 12 Adventure

Thursday morning was great, we started off strong and on good terms. Our crew of 6(Mike, Chris, Rachel, and myself in my truck and Craig n Traci n their jetta) rolled out of Sanford around noontime as planned. My truck was weighted down to the max with bikes and no one could have possibly predicted the obstacles that lay ahead of us as we are cruising up I-95. We caught up with some of the Deadbeats along the way which was cool to have some company on the road . Things were going so smooth until Georgia and then, well shit hit the fan so to speak.
Our buddy, Jeremiah was riding and got hit in the face with tire tread from an exploding tire and then my truck's brake line was apparently melted away by the exhaust and we lost all brakes. We stopped in Camden, GA to investigate the situation and sent out a small crew to hunt down a new brake line while Mike removed the old one. Things were going as smoothly as possible until God decided he didn't like us dirty bikers and sent us a downpour of rain mixed with thunder and lightning. The parking lot of the gas station quickly flooded with about 1 1/2" - 2" of rain and Mike was steady working under the truck with water up to his ears. I stood by his side the entire time passing wrenches and zip ties in the pouring rain praying not to get struck by lightning. There is nothing that the man can't do and this day proved it undoubtedly Needless to say I have never been so happy to see a clean truck stop bathroom with one of those twisty nozzle hand blow dryers. My apologies to the old ladies who had to see me in my underwear while using the above mentioned blow dryer. So, you would think that this would be the end of our troubles on the first day but you are wrong! After we got back on the road for a few hours we encountered fiasco #2 in the form of blown trailer tire, luckily we caught it in time before it completely fell apart and did any real damage. We did have a spare so things weren't too disastrous it just took while to get the lug nuts off cause we didn't have the right size wrench. After all was said and done we rolled into the gates of the SmokeOut at 11:30 Thursday evening, 4 hours after schedule but fuck it we made it enough said!

This is the last of the pics from the party. These pictures show the after party with the bands Kinky Catawampus and Room Full of Strangers playing at Little Fish Huge Pond. It was hot, sweaty, disgusting and I loved every minute of it as you can tell by the photos. I danced the night away my girl Teressa, Hollywood, and J-Dub. Wow what a fun night, I can't wait to do it again!

What a great time we all had bar hopping in Daytona Saturday night. Seen a whole lot of titties at Nicely's and the Crooks Den and seen a whole lot of polo wearing douche bags at SickBoyz(don't go there it sucks). We tried to go to the Circus Bar but it was a little to dark in there for our crew. All I can say is thank goodness for Denny's at 4am. That was questionably the best meal I've ever had.

Ok, so like I was saying before there were a Ton of cool bikes that showed up. I honestly was surprised that so many cool choppers were in Florida. Some of them came from as far south as Miami and as far north as Jacksonville but regardless of where exactly they came from whats important is that they came! The Florida chopper scene is alive and well and I couldn't be happier about it! The RUBY TITS, the ShovelHead that won Best in Show, belonged to Paul Giambrone and he was one cool dude and his bike was well, the best! He rode that bastard all the way from Ft. Lauderdale and we couldn't have been happier to give him the trophy. This bike was also originally picked by the girls to receive the Ladies Choice Award also but unfortunately Mike said he couldn't win two awards.

All I can say first and foremost is WOW what a huge turnout, I can't even begin to thank everyone enough for coming out and sweating their asses off with us Sunday! We had so many neato bikes show up that I think even Willie from Tropical Tattoos was impressed and his bike show is legendary. I really wanna give a props to a few people for working hard for no $$, Suzanne-the hula hoop girl, Chris Harris- the grill cook, DJ Misha & Hollywood- hype boys and crowd entertainers. Also big thanks to DNA Energy Drink for setting up and passing out free drinks and jerky to everyone it was a crowd pleaser. Poke N Stuffem brought some colorful creatures to the party and Rachel wanted to say thanks to everyone who bought their very own cuddly monster. FNA Customs and Fat American Choppers came to party and brought some bad ass bikes and one cool Cadillac filled with pretty girls! DeadBeat Motor Cult was in full force I really like all those crazy kids and I am happy they brought some of their DeadBeat friends/motorcycles to the party. If it wasn't for these sponsors we wouldn't have had so much cool stuff to raffle and giveaway: Biltwell, SmutLife, Custom Chrome, Stone Edge Skate Park, Budweiser, The Horse, Hollerbach's Willow Tree Cafe, Avon Tyres, Poke N Stuffem, Angry White Boy, I hope I didn't leave any one out!
